六 朝对 三国，天禄对石渠。1
- 六朝：三国时吴、东晋，南北朝南朝宋、齐、梁、陈（相继在南京建都，称六朝）。三国指魏蜀吴。Liu Chao: Wu, Dong Jin of the Three Kingdoms, Song, Qi, Liang, Chen of the Southern Dynasties, they all found their capital at Nan Jing. Sanguo means Wei, Shu and Wu.
- 天禄：西汉刘向校书的天禄阁。与石渠（西汉萧何藏书籍的楼阁，后汉成帝用来藏珍贵图书）相对。Tian Lu refers to Tian Lu Ge (shaped like a Pavilion) where Liu Xiang proofread the ancient books. Shi qu: the place where Xiao He stored his books.
Qian zi ce: The discourse on politics for the final imperial examination, which limited to 1000 characters, started from Tang and ensured at Song.
Ba Hang shu: The letter in ancient times has only 8 lines a page.
You Ruo: Confucius’ disciple.
Jia Gai: borrow a hood. In a raining day, Confucius is about to go out but it’s about to rain. His disciples advise that he can borrow a hood from Bu Shang. Confucius said if you want to keep a friendly relationship with others you have to avoid his shortcomings and let him show his good side. BU is stingy and if he doesn’t lend it to me all will know he is mean but if he lend it to me since I am his teacher then he would not feel good, which makes him suffer. Therefore, I don’t borrow things from him.
Fen Che, Ruan Yu of Jin has a gorgeous carriage. He won’t refuse to lend it to others whenever they ask. Someone’s mother died but he dare not to borrow it. Ruan Yu heard about it and said, I have a carriage but it made others dare not to borrow, what’s the use I still keep it! So he burned it.
